The Forts of Bocachica Tour

Explore these three awesome forts build by the spaniards to protect the entrance of the bay of Cartagena de Indias. Coveted by Spain, Pirates, Buccaneers and Corsairs, this long forgotten lost city in the Caribbean has a lot of histories to tell. This unusual and out of the tourist path tour will take you to Bocachica with a boat and from there to the Bateria del Angel and San Fernando, and, across the entrance of the bay, to the fort of San Jose.

Our local guide will take you were nobody else does and tell you all the secrets kept by these walls. At the end of the tour you’ll have a typical lunch on the local beach.

In our effort to provide a sustainable tourism, involve local communities and slow down gentrification, our staff is composed by active members of the neighborhood association.

Departure time for this tour is at 8:30am. Our guide will meet you at Les Lezards and have coffee and a chat with you and will take you to the Muelle de la Bodeguita in a private vehicle with our driver. From there you’ll take a public taxi boat to Bocachica and visit the Bateria del Angel and San Fernando forts with a guide of the Bocachica community. Then, with a small boat, departure to the opposite side of the bay entrance and visit of the San Jose fort. The boat will then leave you on the local beach for lunch.

Includes boat trips ( public boat to Bocachica and return and private boat to San Jose ).

Return is around 4pm. Our driver will be waiting for you and will take you back at Les Lezards or drop you at some terrace bar for a sunset cocktail.
